Kitchen & Bath Designer

About the Role

We are a New York City–based design firm seeking a talented and driven Kitchen and Bath Designer to join our team. In this role, you will partner with homeowners, contractors, architects, and trade professionals to bring beautiful, functional kitchen and bath spaces to life — from initial concept through final installation. The ideal candidate is a creative problem-solver with sharp attention to detail, exceptional client-facing skills, and the ability to juggle multiple projects across the fast-paced NYC market.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients in our showroom and at job sites to assess needs, take measurements, and develop tailored kitchen and bath design concepts.
  • Produce detailed floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings using design software. Chief Architect is a big plus, AutoCAD, or SketchUp.
  • Specify cabinetry, countertops, plumbing fixtures, tile, hardware, appliances, and lighting that fit each client's style, space, and budget.
  • Prepare accurate quotes, purchase orders, and project timelines; track orders and deliveries from vendors and manufacturers.
  • Coordinate with contractors, installers, plumbers, electricians, and building management to ensure smooth project execution, including navigating NYC co-op and condo board approval processes.
  • Manage multiple active projects simultaneously, keeping all stakeholders informed of status, changes, and next steps.
  • Stay current on new products, finishes, and industry trends.
  • Build and nurture long-term relationships with clients, designers, architects, and trade partners to drive repeat and referral business.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in kitchen and bath design, interior design, or a related residential design field (NYC experience strongly preferred).
  • Degree or certificate in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field; NKBA (CKD/CBD) certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with design and rendering software.
  • Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction, plumbing fixtures, tile, stone, and current design trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — able to listen carefully, explain design choices clearly, and build trust with clients.
  • Extremely organized with strong project-management instincts; able to track many moving parts without losing details.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize across multiple projects and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong math, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving skills for accurate measuring and space planning.
  • Familiarity with NYC building codes, alteration agreements, and co-op/condo approval workflows is a major plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; comfortable learning new CRM and project-management tools.
  • Portfolio of completed kitchen and/or bath projects required.

Skills & Attributes We Value
