Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting all kitchen equipment to ensure smooth operation of culinary outlets. Ensures all equipment meets safety, hygiene, and performance standards in line with hotel and Dubai Municipality regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on all kitchen equipment (ovens, chillers, freezers, dishwashers, burners, combi ovens, mixers, exhaust systems, etc.).
- Diagnose breakdowns and carry out timely repairs to minimize downtime.
- Respond to maintenance requests from Culinary and Stewarding departments.
- Ensure proper calibration and safe functioning of gas and electrical kitchen appliances.
- Maintain accurate logs, checklists, and service records.
- Coordinate with external vendors for major repairs or specialized servicing.
- Ensure all work complies with hotel safety standards and HACCP requirements.
- Identify and report any potential hazards or equipment issues.
- Support other engineering tasks as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Technical certificate/diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Refrigeration/AC.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience as Kitchen Equipment Technician, preferably in a hotel or commercial kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of gas systems, refrigeration, and kitchen equipment controls.
- Ability to read technical manuals and equipment schematics.
- Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
