Job Description:

A Kitchen Equipment Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in commercial kitchens, restaurants, and food service facilities. The technician ensures that all kitchen appliances and electrical connections operate safely and efficiently to support smooth daily operations and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair restaurant and kitchen equipment, including ovens, fryers, grills, dishwashers, coffee machines, chillers, and cold rooms.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance to reduce equipment breakdowns and extend machine lifespan.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions in kitchen appliances and refrigeration systems.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, thermostats, compressors, and heating elements.
• Calibrate and test equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency.
• Maintain detailed service records and report recurring technical issues to management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food industry standards.
• Coordinate with the restaurant’s operations and kitchen teams to schedule repairs with minimal disruption to service.
• Assist in installing new equipment and provide user guidance to staff when necessary.
• Respond promptly to service calls and maintenance requests.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or certification in electrical/mechanical maintenance or other related field.
• Atleast 2 year's proven experience as a kitchen equipment technician or maintenance technician.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, refrigeration, and gas systems.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
