The Brunswick School Department is looking for a dynamic, experienced Kitchen Manager at the Kate Furbish Elementary School. The kitchen manager oversees all aspects of the kitchen operation, including but not limited to: preparing menus, prepping and cooking, ordering food and supplies, managing student accounts and a POS system. The kitchen manager will be involved in marketing, promotions and special meal offering. The manager also supervises four food service workers, oversees payroll, schedules and provides supervision and direction as needed. The Kate Furbish Elementary School Food Service program offers a cafeteria style service, serving roughly 275 breakfasts and up to 475 lunches daily. The food service program’s goals are to use as many fresh and local Maine products as possible, while maintaining reasonable food and labor costs. The kitchen manager will work closely with the Principal and School Nurse managing allergies and special diets for many children. The kitchen manager reports directly to the School Nutrition Director. The work schedule is mid-August through late June, Monday through Friday 6:00 - 2:30. There is an opportunity to work during the summer in the facilities and grounds department. The starting pay is $26.22 and will go up in August.
