Kitchen Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary team and oversee daily kitchen operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the delivery of exceptional food quality, maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness, and foster a positive, team-focused environment. Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize profitability.
  • Supervise staff training and development, including onboarding new team members, conducting performance evaluations, and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards through regular inspections and staff education on proper handling procedures.
  • Coordinate shift management by scheduling staff efficiently, overseeing daily operations, and resolving any issues promptly to maintain smooth service flow.
  • Prepare schedules to ensure proper staffing levels and adjust for events and change in business.
  • Lead efforts in customer service excellence by addressing guest concerns swiftly and maintaining a welcoming environment for all patrons.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management within quick service or fast-food restaurant environments.
  • Strong background in restaurant management with supervisory experience in hospitality or food service settings.
  • Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast; capable of managing P-Mix reports and other sales reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inventory control, food safety practices, and food handling regulations.
  • Experience with staff training, team management, interviewing potential employees, and developing talent within a restaurant or hospitality context.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a casual dining or fine dining environment; excellent leadership skills with a focus on training & development.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and food production processes; previous experience managing shifts in a busy restaurant setting is preferred.
