Kitchen Staff Job Description

1. Prep Cook (Food Preparation)

Main duties:

• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables, meat, and ingredients
• Prepare sauces, marinades, and portions
• Assist chefs in basic cooking tasks
• Follow recipes and kitchen instructions
• Store food properly and label items
• Maintain cleanliness in prep area

These tasks are essential to keep the kitchen running smoothly and ready for service

2. Fryer / Line Helper

Main duties:

• Cook fried items (e.g., chicken, tempura, fries)
• Monitor oil temperature and cooking time
• Ensure food quality and presentation
• Work fast during busy hours
• Follow hygiene and safety rules

Often combined with prep or line cook duties in restaurants

3. Dishwasher / Kitchen Cleaner

Main duties:

• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
