Kitchen Steward / Dishwasher (Corporate Dining – Midtown Manhattan)
Position Overview
We are seeking a strong, reliable, and professional Kitchen Steward / Dishwasher to support a high-level corporate dining kitchen in Midtown Manhattan.
This role is essential to maintaining the daily flow of the kitchen and requires someone who is highly organized, efficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
The position is dishwashing-focused (approximately 70%), with additional responsibilities in light food preparation (30%), restocking, and maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness and organization.
Schedule (Approx. 30 Hours / Week)
- Monday: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Thursday: 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM
- Friday: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Dishwashing & Sanitation (Primary Responsibility – 70%)
- Maintain a continuous flow of dishwashing throughout the day
- Wash all pots, pans, utensils, and service equipment
- Ensure all items are properly cleaned, sanitized, dried, and stored
- Keep dish area clean, organized, and operating efficiently at all times
Kitchen Support & Daily Operations
- Assist the Chef and team with daily kitchen tasks as needed
- Support lunch service with restocking and organization
- Maintain cleanliness of all workstations, prep areas, and service areas
- Wipe down surfaces, sanitize stations, and maintain overall kitchen standards
Food Preparation Support (30%)
- Assist with basic prep including vegetables and simple mise en place
- Support protein prep and kitchen setup as directed
- Prepare components for the following day’s service
Restocking & Organization
- Restock refrigerators, pantry areas, and snack stations
- Refill plates, silverware (both reusable and disposable), and service items
- Maintain organization of kitchen storage areas
- Ensure all items are properly labeled and stored
End-of-Day Responsibilities
- Assist with full kitchen breakdown and reset
- Ensure all dishes are completed before end of shift
- Prepare kitchen for next day operations
- Assist with deep cleaning tasks as needed
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries
- Break down boxes and store items properly
- Support restocking of all kitchen and pantry areas
- Assist with weekly organization and preparation for upcoming service
Work Environment & Expectations
- Fast-paced, professional corporate kitchen environment
- Position requires standing for extended periods of time
- Continuous movement and physical work throughout the shift
- Limited downtime during service hours

Compensation
- $28/hour
- Part-time (30 hours/week)
- Monday–Friday schedule
