As a Sandwich Smith, you are a foundational part of our kitchen team — bringing care, consistency, and intention to every item you prepare.
This is an entry-level back-of-house role designed for individuals who take pride in doing the basics exceptionally well. From building sandwiches to supporting daily kitchen operations, your work directly contributes to the experience our guests know and love.
As a Daymaker, you understand that even the simplest dish can create a meaningful moment. Every sandwich you build is an opportunity to deliver quality, comfort, and consistency. We are starting our summer season interview process and looking for approximately 3-4 team members to fill this role for the busy summer season.
Description
The Sandwich Smith is responsible for executing core kitchen tasks, with a primary focus on sandwich preparation and light food production.
You will work alongside a supportive team to maintain a clean, efficient kitchen while learning the fundamentals of food preparation, organization, and kitchen flow.
This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, and excited to grow within a positive, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sandwich Craft
- Prepare sandwiches with consistency, accuracy, and care
- Follow recipes and build standards to ensure quality in every item
- Maintain speed and efficiency during peak service times
- Plate and package items neatly and thoughtfully
Kitchen Support & Prep
- Assist with basic food prep tasks (cutting, portioning, stocking)
- Keep ingredient stations stocked and organized
- Support team members to maintain smooth kitchen operations
- Learn and follow kitchen systems and workflows
Cleanliness & Food Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace at all times
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Complete daily cleaning tasks and checklists
- Respect shared spaces and equipment

Qualifications
- No prior kitchen experience required (training provided)
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
- Attention to detail and consistency
- Positive attitude and reliability
- Ability to stay focused and organized in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort working in a kitchen environment
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency

Salary
$13.73 - $25 per hour
