Operations & Purchasing Coordinator – Kyadta Building Supplies

Location: Ankeny, Iowa

About Kyadta

Kyadta Building Supplies is a growing, family-owned distributor serving multi-family, commercial, and residential construction projects. We source high-quality products — from cabinets, flooring, trim, and lighting to plumbing fixtures and quartz countertops — partnering with trusted builders, designers, and developers to bring their projects from Blueprint to Build.

We’re detail-driven, relationship-focused, and passionate about delivering quality on a budget. As we grow, we’re looking for a reliable and proactive Operations & Purchasing Coordinator to help with day-to-day operations, purchasing, logistics, and vendor coordination.

Position Overview

The Operations & Purchasing Coordinator supports the company across all phases of supply chain and project execution — from quoting and ordering materials to tracking freight and ensuring accurate invoicing. This role bridges the gap between purchasing, accounting, and project delivery, ensuring that our systems, data, and communications stay organized and on time.

This is a hands-on, detail-oriented position with room to grow into a leadership role as the company expands.

Key Responsibilities

· Organize material takeoffs, design packages, and jobsite delivery schedules.

· Communicate with domestic and international vendors to confirm pricing, lead times, and shipment details.

· Track containers, coordinate customs documentation, and manage inbound freight schedules.

· Maintain and update vendor quotes and landed cost sheets.

· Ensure product receipts match purchase orders; reconcile discrepancies and returns.

· Help maintain product lists, SKUs, and pricing updates.

· Support invoice matching and reconciliation between POs, vendor bills, and customer invoices.

· Track tariffs, freight costs, and allocate overhead to product categories accurately.

· Assist with builder communications and submittals.

· Provide general office and operations support to keep the flow between purchasing, accounting, and project management seamless.

Ideal Candidate

You are:

  • Exceptionally organized and able to handle moving parts and competing priorities.
  • Comfortable in spreadsheets and QuickBooks (bonus if you’ve used an ERP system).
  • A clear communicator who takes ownership of tasks from start to finish.
  • Curious about how materials, pricing, freight, and inventory flow together.
  • Comfortable in a small business setting where every person’s work makes a visible impact.

Qualifications

· 2+ years experience in purchasing, logistics, or operations (construction or manufacturing preferred).

· Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets, and basic accounting workflows.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to work on-site in Ankeny, IA.

· Comfortable learning new systems and improving existing processes.

Compensation & Benefits

· Competitive hourly wage (based on experience).

· Paid time off and company holidays.

· Flexible hours with long-term growth potential into operations management.

· Family-oriented environment and opportunities to learn all aspects of the business.
