SMS Law Firm is a U.S.-based immigration and corporate law practice with a strong focus on investment and business immigration, including EB-5, L-1, and E-2 for clients across Asia (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan). We prioritize precision, responsiveness, and clear communication.

We are seeking an experienced L-1/E-2 Specialist to support our attorneys with petition drafting, optimization of process, evidence organization, research, and client-facing coordination.

Responsibilities

• Draft full L-1A, L-1B, L-1 Blanket, E-2 petition packages, including:
• Organizational charts, company summaries, ownership/financial structure descriptions, form filling,
• Business plans (for E-2) or operational/managerial role analyses (for L-1A)
• Support letters, employer statements, and detailed job descriptions
• Review and index evidence; prepare exhibit lists and document requests for clients
• Conduct targeted legal/factual research (e.g., USCIS trends, consular practices in Asia)
• Communicate with the supervising attorney regarding case strategy and required evidence
• Provide high-quality written work product with consistent, reliable turnaround times

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on L-1 and E-2 drafting experience (law firm or independent contractor - we will request a sample)
• Strong knowledge of USCIS evidentiary standards and RFEs related to L-1/E-2
• Excellent English legal writing and fact-development skills
• Experience working with clients in Asia (China/Taiwan/Hong Kong/Korea/Japan preferred)
• Ability to work independently under attorney supervision and meet agreed-upon deadlines
• High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Mandarin Chinese proficiency (reading/writing/speaking) strongly preferred
• Familiarity with consular practices at posts including: Taipei, Guangzhou, Tokyo
• Bar admission in any jurisdiction (not required)
