Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Level 1 Medical Assistant (L1MA) to join our healthcare team in providing exceptional patient care across various medical settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical support, with experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments. This role offers an opportunity to work closely with patients, supporting their health and well-being through attentive care and medical assistance. The L1MA will be responsible for assisting healthcare professionals with routine procedures, maintaining accurate medical documentation, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist medical staff with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and basic clinical procedures.
  • Support patients with activities of daily living, including mobility assistance and personal hygiene.
  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure all medical supplies are stocked and sterile.
  • Document patient information accurately using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Administer medications and treatments under supervision, including tube feeding and catheter care when qualified.
  • Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to healthcare providers promptly.
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Assist with medical records management, ensuring proper documentation of medical history, medication administration, and vital signs.
  • Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice support, or memory care.
  • Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive senior and community-based care.

Skills

  • Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic nursing practices.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general.
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, catheter care, and tube feeding.
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical records management standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting compassionately with patients and team members.

TWO POSITIONS OPEN ACROSS THE COMPANY

1. ONE FULL TIME POSITION, EVERY WEEKEND NIGHT SHIFT 6P-6A, PLUS TWO NIGHTS DURING THE WEEK 11P-7A. SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL PAY FOR EVERY WEEKEND.

2. ONE FULL TIME POSITION, EVERY OTHER WEEKEND WITH THE HOURS OF 7P-7A, AND THREE SHIFTS DURING THE WEEK 11P-7A.
