Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate L1MA (Level 1 Medical Assistant) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care, medical documentation, and clinical procedures, with experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings. As an L1MA, you will support healthcare providers by delivering high-quality patient care, managing medical records, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties
- Assist healthcare professionals with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems.
- Support patient care activities including medication administration, bathing, and hygiene assistance while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
- Monitor and record vital signs accurately; observe and report changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
- Assist with mobility support and activities of daily living for individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions.
- Maintain detailed medical records, ensuring proper documentation of treatments, medications, and procedures using systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Provide compassionate care for patients in assisted living or hospice environments, including memory care and dementia support.
- Follow safety protocols related to infection control, medical equipment use, and emergency procedures to ensure a safe environment for all patients.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care in various settings.
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and nursing practices.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience providing behavioral health, hospice support, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform clinical tasks including medication administration.
- Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with patients and collaborate within healthcare teams.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and best practices for maintaining patient confidentiality.
