2 positions available; full-time, rotating holidays, rotating nights 1830-0700, and 1 out of every 6 weekends 0630-1900. Both positions may include some rotating shifts to help cover the lab when needed.
Schedule 1: 0700-1730, 4 days per week
Schedule 2: 1130-2000, 5 days per week
Responsibilities:

Performs arterial puncture for ABG
-
Perform therapeutic phlebotomies
-
Accurately collects drug screening samples and completes chain of custody forms
-
Performs daily functions directly related to the laboratory department
-
Documents corrective action, variance reports and all pertinent information
-
Evaluates laboratory results and assures accuracy
-
Performs EKG and associated paperwork accurately
-
Assists in scheduling respiratory care procedures
-
Facilitates department scheduling in call back and emergency situations
-
Assists with the ordering of department supplies
-
Communicates and documents critical laboratory values to physicians and nursing personnel
-
Performs laboratory tests, processes and releases results that are timely, accurate and precise
-
Performs the collection and labeling of specimens for laboratory testing
-
Performs preventative maintenance and troubleshoots lab equipment
-
Performs quality control and quality assurance functions, and assists in the record keeping of such
-
Assists the Pathologist in performing procedures
-
Provides for safety, physical and mental comfort during procedures
-
Assists in writing, reviewing, revising, implementing policies and procedures
-
Skillfully performs phlebotomy on patients in-house and other locations
-
Prepares sent-out labs
-
Performs clerical duties and files accurately
-
Takes accurate and complete orders following RMC policy as well as following CLIA,
NCD and LMRP guidelines -
Assists with stocking the department with supplies
-
Accurately completes orders in computer
-
Records and distributes sent-out lab reports
-
Schedules drug testing
-
Accurately perform breath alcohol test and complete appropriate paperwork
-
Graduate of one of the following programs: Certified Laboratory Technician, Medical or Clinical Laboratory Technician, Medical or Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical or Clinical Laboratory Technology

Current certification from credentialed association

BLS Certification

Child and Dependent Adult Mandatory Reporter training
