Job Summary:

The Hospital Lab Technician is responsible for collecting, preparing, and analyzing biological samples such as blood, urine, and tissue. The role involves performing diagnostic tests to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. The technician ensures that all procedures are performed accurately and safely, maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood and other biological specimens from patients
  • Prepare samples for testing and analysis
  • Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests (e.g., CBC, glucose, cultures)
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., centrifuges, analyzers, microscopes)
  • Record and report test results accurately and promptly
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper functioning of the lab
  • Follow safety and infection control protocols strictly
  • Maintain laboratory records and comply with hospital and regulatory guidelines
  • Assist in inventory management and ordering of lab supplies
  • Communicate with doctors and nurses regarding test procedures and results

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT, BMLT, or equivalent)
  • Valid certification from a recognized medical laboratory council (if applicable)
  • 1–3 years of experience preferred (Freshers may be considered for junior roles)
  • Knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Basic computer skills (for lab software/reporting)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Work Conditions:

  • Laboratory environment in a hospital setting
  • Shift work required (day/night/weekend)
  • Exposure to infectious materials and chemicals (with proper PPE)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹17,000.00 per month
