Laboratory Technician

DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves hands-on work with specialized equipment to conduct coreflooding and proppant fracture conductivity experiments. The technician will be responsible for operating high-pressure and high-temperature equipment, ensuring the quality of data collected, and adhering to safety standards.
Hands-on experience in a technical or lab environment is Essential. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a good understanding of basic mechanical principles, and a commitment to safety practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate coreflooding and proppant fracture conductivity systems and equipment under controlled high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.
- Ensure all experiments are performed following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Collect and record data accurately during experiments and assist in analyzing results.
- Monitor and troubleshoot equipment during testing, ensuring proper functioning and safety at all times.
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment to ensure it is functioning to specification.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially when handling high-pressure and temperature systems.
- Assist in the routine cleaning, maintenance, and organization of the laboratory.
- Work closely with other technicians and scientists to ensure efficient and accurate experiment execution.
- Maintain inventory of consumables and equipment, and place orders as needed.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Technical certification or some college coursework in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a lab or technical environment is essential.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical or laboratory equipment is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in high-pressure and high-temperature environments safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording data and performing tasks.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and willingness to learn new techniques and systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to [50] pounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in lab environments with varying temperatures.
- Comfortable working with high-pressure equipment and hazardous materials, following proper safety procedures.
Additional Information:
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is mandatory and must be worn at all times in designated areas.
- Full training on equipment and safety procedures will be provided.
- Frequent overtime or weekend shifts may be required based on project needs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
