For the continued expansion of its North American operations, PlanET is looking for a Lab Technician to join our team. The Lab Technician will be based in our Lucerne, Colorado office and support the effective operation of biogas plants through sample pickup at various digester sites, accurate measurement of digester health parameters, and the generation of sample datasheets and reports that allow customers to make important operational decisions. Reporting to the Biology Manager, the selected candidate will be expected to drive to digester sites to collect samples multiple times weekly, perform chemical and gravimetric analysis of digestate and manure slurry samples, transcribe and communicate data in various formats (e.g. Excel, PDF, online database, etc.), calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, and perform various housekeeping duties for the laboratory and office.

Responsibilities:

· Travel to northeast Colorado digester sites at least twice per week using a personal vehicle (approximately 350 miles/week) for sample collection; occasional additional travel may be required.

· Collect, transport, and process samples in accordance with established protocols.

· Perform a variety of laboratory analyses following standard procedures.

· Manage, assemble, and distribute sampling kits and shipping materials to ensure customers are properly equipped.

· Package, label, and ship samples in compliance with company procedures and applicable shipping regulations.

· Coordinate outgoing and incoming shipments, including tracking, documentation, and resolving delivery issues.

· Accurately record and transcribe laboratory results into electronic systems and communicate findings as needed.

· Prepare, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and supplies.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory and workspace.

· Perform general laboratory and office housekeeping duties.

Qualifications:

· A degree in a relevant field (Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline) or equivalent laboratory experience.

· Previous experience with sample analysis in a laboratory and/or field environment.

· Ability to drive approximately 350 miles per week with personal vehicle for sample collection and other site visit needs. The applicant’s vehicle should be capable of traversing roads that can be rough and/or muddy.

· Good in-person and written communication skills that support coordination with staff at digester sites.

· Attention to detail with sample collection, analysis, and communication.

· Knowledge and practice of laboratory safety procedures, including the safe handling of biologically active samples and laboratory reagents.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
