Position Overview
We are seeking a disciplined, detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our 24/7 molten manufacturing operation. This role is critical to maintaining our Standard of Excellence through precise chemical analysis, quality verification, and reliable equipment performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Testing & Chemical Analysis
- Perform metal analysis using OES spectrometry to certify alloy composition.
- Monitor chemical consistency across production batches.
- Evaluate non-conforming materials and support corrective actions.
- Inspect finished products for quality deviations.
Lab Equipment Operation & Calibration
- Operate lab equipment including spectrometers, lathes, sanders, and grinders.
- Perform scheduled calibrations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain equipment readiness to support continuous operations.
Documentation, Reporting & Inventory
- Accurately input daily production and testing data.
- Maintain audit-ready records of results, calibrations, and checks.
- Monitor and report lab inventory levels.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with production and quality teams for timely, accurate testing.
- Support technical leadership (Operations Manager, Metallurgist, Plant Manager).
- Uphold all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field preferred.
- Knowledge of aluminum alloys and specification control preferred.
- Experience with spectrometry or ability to learn quickly.
- Forklift operation or willingness to be trained.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and internal systems.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
