Position Overview

We are seeking a disciplined, detail-oriented Lab Technician to support our 24/7 molten manufacturing operation. This role is critical to maintaining our Standard of Excellence through precise chemical analysis, quality verification, and reliable equipment performance.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaterial Testing & Chemical Analysis

  • Perform metal analysis using OES spectrometry to certify alloy composition.
  • Monitor chemical consistency across production batches.
  • Evaluate non-conforming materials and support corrective actions.
  • Inspect finished products for quality deviations.

Lab Equipment Operation & Calibration

  • Operate lab equipment including spectrometers, lathes, sanders, and grinders.
  • Perform scheduled calibrations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain equipment readiness to support continuous operations.

Documentation, Reporting & Inventory

  • Accurately input daily production and testing data.
  • Maintain audit-ready records of results, calibrations, and checks.
  • Monitor and report lab inventory levels.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with production and quality teams for timely, accurate testing.
  • Support technical leadership (Operations Manager, Metallurgist, Plant Manager).
  • Uphold all safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of aluminum alloys and specification control preferred.
  • Experience with spectrometry or ability to learn quickly.
  • Forklift operation or willingness to be trained.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and internal systems.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Schedule: Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Pre-Employment: Background check and hair follicle drug test required
