Lab Technician – Neo Chemicals Factory

Reporting To

QA/QC Manager

Job Purpose

The Lab Technician is responsible for performing laboratory testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished chemical products in the Neo Chemicals Factory. The role ensures consistent product quality, adherence to specifications, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Material Testing & Analysis

•Conduct chemical, physical, and mechanical tests on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.

•Use laboratory equipment and instruments accurately and safely.

•Ensure test results are reliable and comply with company and regulatory standards.

2. Quality Control Support

•Assist the QA/QC team in monitoring production quality and compliance.

•Identify deviations, non-conformities, or defects and report them to the QA/QC Manager.

•Support in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

3. Equipment Operation & Maintenance

•Operate laboratory instruments and maintain them in good working condition.

•Calibrate equipment as required and report malfunctions.

•Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.

4. Documentation & Reporting

•Maintain accurate records of laboratory tests, results, and analyses.

•Prepare reports and summaries for QA/QC Manager and production teams.

•Assist in documentation for audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

5. Health, Safety & Compliance

•Follow laboratory safety procedures and HSE guidelines while handling chemicals.

•Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials.

•Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

6. Continuous Improvement

•Suggest improvements in testing procedures and laboratory practices.

•Stay updated with new testing methods, equipment, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

•Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.

Experience

•Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Lab Technician, preferably in chemical manufacturing, plastics, or adhesives production.

•Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures, instruments, and quality control processes.
