Position: Lab Technician – In-Charge

Location: Umayanalloor, Kollam (1.5 km from NH66)

Required Qualifications

• B.Sc MLT (BMLT) / M.Sc MLT / DMLT
• Candidates must have valid Paramedical Council Registration
• Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in a Clinical Laboratory
• Prior experience in a Hospital Laboratory or Main Testing Lab of a Diagnostic Lab Chain is strongly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Biochemistry and Haematology analyzers
• Prior exposure to team handling or supervisory responsibility is mandatory

Role Overview

The Lab Technician – In-Charge is responsible for day-to-day operational control of the laboratory, quality of testing, discipline of staff, and coordination with clinical and administrative teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and perform routine laboratory investigations with accuracy and consistency
• Supervise sample collection, handling, processing, and reporting
• Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, quality protocols, and regulatory standards
• Maintain and verify documentation, reports, registers, and digital records
• Coordinate with OPD doctors, Pharmacy, and Clinical teams for seamless workflow
• Handle patient queries professionally and resolve lab-related issues
• Monitor basic inventory, consumables usage, and billing-related lab entries
• Maintain lab hygiene, safety standards, and equipment discipline
• Enforce grooming, uniform, and professional conduct standards within the lab team
• Report operational issues, deviations, or staff concerns to Management

Reporting Structure

• Reports directly to Management
• Responsible for supervising lab staff

Uniform & Professional Standards

• Medical scrubs are mandatory during duty hours
• High standards of hygiene, communication, and patient care are non-negotiable

We are a well-established OP Clinic operating for over 20 years, with:

• 4 full-time OP doctors
• ~20 employees across Clinical, Pharmacy, and Diagnostics
• An in-house Clinical Laboratory supporting OP services

Shift Timings

• Morning Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Evening Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Salary

₹17,000 – ₹21,000 per month
