Lab Technician – R&D

TRAQ is an innovative Health and Wellness company that develops point-of-care devices with the ability to read a variety of biomarkers in human saliva. We are seeking for a Lab Technician to join our R&D team. This is a great opportunity to join our rapidly growing biotech firm.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Lab Technician to support our R&D team with laboratory operations, sample handling, and experimental execution. This role will assist in the development and testing of sensor technologies and biomarker detection methods.

This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced startup environment, ideal for someone looking to gain experience in biotech, diagnostics, and sensor development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine lab tasks including pipetting, solution preparation, and sample handling
• Assist with sensor fabrication and experimental setup (e.g., drop casting, electrode prep)
• Handle and process saliva samples for biomarker testing
• Support testing of chemical formulations and experimental conditions
• Operate and maintain lab equipment (pipettes, centrifuges, balances, etc.)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked lab environment
• Record and document experimental data accurately
• Assist with troubleshooting experiments and improving workflows
• Support additional R&D tasks as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Basic laboratory experience (academic or industry)
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills
• Ability to follow protocols and maintain accurate records
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or working toward) in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Engineering, or related field
• Experience with chemical handling or wet lab techniques
• Exposure to electrochemistry, sensors, or materials science
• Familiarity with biological sample handling (saliva, blood, etc.)
• Experience preparing buffers or working with formulations
• Previous experience in a research or startup lab setting

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• 8-hour shift

• In person (Carlsbad, CA)

Salary:

- Commensurate with experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
