Lab Technician - Temporary

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Lab Technician to join our growing environmental testing team for a three month position. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values precision, and thrives in a collaborative lab environment—no prior laboratory experience required. We provide training.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform extractions of water and soil samples using standard laboratory methods and chemicals (e.g., methylene chloride, hexane, acetone, acids, and bases) in accordance with project plans and SOPs
• Accurately log and track samples using Chain of Custody (COC) procedures
• Conduct precise lab tasks including weighing, labeling, vial preparation, data entry, and sample preparation (spiking/dilutions)
• Maintain clear, complete, and reproducible documentation
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely turn around of client samples
• Follow all established safety protocols and properly use personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Clean and maintain lab equipment, including glassware and instruments
• Communicate proactively with team leads regarding timelines, workload, or potential delays
• Support compliance with NELAP standards (including SOP adherence and documentation practices)
• Identify and report inconsistencies, supply needs, or opportunities for process improvement

Pay: $21.30 - $23.30 per hour
