Laboratory Assistant

Job Title: Laboratory Assistant/Specimen Processor

Job Type: Schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday 8:00am- 5:00pm or 7:30am- 4:30pm

Responsibilities:
The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for performing all paperwork and non-technical procedures required for processing samples for analysis. Will be responsible for uploading reports for technician review.

Essential Job Functions:

• 
  Performs data entry and specimen processing associated with the laboratory test requests.
• 
  Laboratory specimen preparation.
• 
  Follows all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control.
• 
  Clerical duties such as filing, scanning, or faxing, uploading lab result reports for review
• 
  Promotes a positive and safe work environment through understanding of safety (OSHA) regulations, practices, and procedures, including but not limited to biological and chemical hazards.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• 
  High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 
  Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory.
• 
  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• 
  Prior experience with data entry a plus.
• 
  Excellent listening and communication skills.
• 
  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 
  Must be customer service oriented.
• 
  Punctuality is a must, and must have good time management skills
• 
  Basic computer skills required.

Special Requirements:

• 
  Candidate must retain confidentiality and all reasonable precautions to keep clients’ data and other information confidential.
• 
  Valid Driver’s License.
• 
  Must be able to legally work in the United States.

Physical Requirements:

• 
  Able to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
• 
  Ability to bend at the waist, squat.
• 
  Ability to work with hands, see, and hear.
