Laboratory Assistant

Overview
Join our pathology laboratory team as a Laboratory Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting laboratory operations. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accurate specimen verification and processing including entering data in our EMR. Your expertise will contribute to delivering precise diagnostic results.

Responsibilities

• Assist with laboratory management tasks, including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and sample storage
• Evaluates specimen integrity and ensures accuracy of specimens and paperwork
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during sample handling and laboratory procedures
• Prepares samples for analysis, recording data accurately, and ensuring proper labeling
• Ability to use lab equipment, telephones and computers as required. Experience with data entry into an EMR is not required but preferred.
• Utilize medical and laboratory terminology effectively to document findings and communicate with healthcare professionals
• Problem solving and communication skills are required
