About the Job

BerQ RNG is looking for a Laboratory Assistant for its dairy manure digester biogas to renewable natural gas (RNG) facility, referred to as the Platte River Biogas facility, located in LaSalle, Colorado. The Laboratory Assistant supports daily lab operations by performing sample collection, preparation, and routine testing in accordance with established procedures. This role is responsible for the consistent and accurate execution of lab tasks and reporting results to the Lab Technician.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and prepare feedstock, digester sludge, effluent, and process samples for analysis.
• Perform routine laboratory tests, including Total Solids (TS), Volatile Solids (VS), pH, and other basic parameters, following established procedures.
• Accurately record test results and maintain laboratory logs and data tracking systems.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the laboratory workspace.
• Monitor laboratory supplies and consumables, and assist with inventory management.
• Assist with sample collection throughout the plant, including field environments.
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols when handling samples, chemicals, and equipment.
• Report irregular results, deviations, or equipment issues to the Lab Technician.
• Support basic data entry and tracking of daily lab activities.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with a science major required.
• Experience working in a laboratory is preferred; however, on-the-job training will be provided.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency and accuracy.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment, including exposure to odors, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work in both lab and field settings.
• Must be willing to work onsite.
