Laboratory Assistant - Cytology

We have an immediate need for a detailed oriented individual to work in our Cytology Pathology area. This is a first shift position, beginning at 8 a.m. or 8:30 a.m. This individual performs accessioning and processing of gyn and /or non-gyn specimens with conventional and thin prep methods in an accurate and timely manner to support daily screening cytology. This position in responsible for maintaining and monitoring the slide preparation process. Also, maintains accurate records of staining and flow sheets, keeps supplies stocked, files slides and is responsible for quality assurance activities and other duties that support the department. The appropriate candidate must demonstrate attention to detail, the ability to identify discrepancies in information when present, good decision making skills and be a team player.
