Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Laboratory Biller, where your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient billing processes for laboratory services. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for translating complex medical procedures into precise billing codes, managing claims submissions, and maintaining seamless communication with insurance providers and patients. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help optimize revenue cycles and support the delivery of exceptional patient care.

Duties

  • Responsible for billing all Insurances, Medicare, Medical, CHDP, Contracted IPAS, non contracted IPAS, Patients and doctors.
  • Request any missing billing information to the ordering physician for example DOB, Patient Address, Diagnosis, Insurances.
  • File all request forms.
  • Responsible for answering any billing phone calls from patients, doctors, and any insurance.
  • Responsible for verifying patient insurance eligibility on the internet and on the phone.
  • Posting payments from all payers.
  • Receive credit card payments from patients and clients through phone.
  • Follow up payments on all Insurances, Medicare, Medical, CHDP, Contracted IPAS, non contracted IPAS, Patients and doctors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned that are necessary to ensure efficient operations, patient care, and compliance with organizational standards.

Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of billing experience
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Fluency in speaking, reading, comprehending and writing English
  • Possess professionalism and comfortability in telephone skills
  • Proficient knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of billing, including CPT coding, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of laboratory procedures.
  • Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for billing and record management.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate coding and claim submission.
  • Ability to navigate insurance policies and perform effective medical collections.
  • Familiarity with medical records management and compliance standards in healthcare settings.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients.
  • Have proficient knowledge and skills in utilizing office equipment including computers, office computer software, printers, telephones, fax, and copiers

Pay: $19/hour

Benefits: Health, dental, vision, PTO, 401(k), etc.

Schedule: Full-time; Monday–Friday. On-site in Cypress, CA
