Laboratory Production Associate

SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for supporting laboratory operations by preparing and managing stock and solutions, performing daily QC review and approval, and overall laboratory production support for the customer base.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Makes solutions such as QCs, calibrators, buffers, and stock solutions
  • Assists in approves QCs for all 360 customers daily
  • Monitors and manages the solutions within the lab freezer and refrigerator.
  • Set up, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Remains current on lab standard operating procedures.
  • Identifies and resolves quality control issues.
  • Assists laboratory specialist team in checking customer instrument computers daily to monitor data and instrument function
  • Follows all safety procedures and maintains safety equipment.
  • Adheres to the laboratory's quality control policies, and periodically assesses procedures and identifies problems that may adversely affect test performance.
  • Participates in regular in-service training and appropriate education on laboratory safety and testing procedures.
  • Contributes to the daily need for checking lab results
  • Maintains inventory for stock and solutions. Notifies appropriate staff when inventory is too low.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and lab environment.
  • Remain up-to-date and compliant on all required and assigned training related to laboratory safety and testing procedure and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform basic data analysis and peer review to the capacity of at least 75 reports per day
  • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and notify manager of such problems
  • Responsible for completing assigned continuing education courses.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with Major in a Laboratory Science: Biology or Chemistry preferred.
  • Undergraduate Transcripts required to progress in the interview process.

Experience:

  • (1) Year - Clinical Laboratory Experience in Toxicology with testing performed on LC-MS/MS (Required)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position, and days and hours of work are: approx. 40 hours/week
  • Occasional evenings may be required as job duties demand.
  • Additional hours may be required from time to time.
  • Work Remotely - No, position is in-office only at our Wake Forest, NC location

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

● Knowledge of basic principles and practical applications of chemistry, biochemistry, toxicology, microbiology, molecular biology, and/or related laboratory specialties.

● Operation and Control — Controlling operations of equipment or systems.

● Demonstrate the ability to communicate written and verbal scientific and clinical information.

● Good organizational, communication, strong computer database and laboratory or clinical specimen management skills.

● Ability to perform basic data analysis and peer review to the capacity of at least 75 reports per day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
