Laboratory Supervisor

Summary

The Laboratory Supervisor at KITCC is responsible for overseeing all laboratory operations and ensuring the efficient and accurate performance of laboratory tests related to thalassemia diagnosis and management.

Job Responsibilities

1. Manage day-to-day laboratory operations.

2. Implement and maintain quality control procedures.

3. Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipments.

4. Monitor inventory levels of reagents, supplies, and consumables, and coordinate procurement activities to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations.

5. Ensure safety protocols and regulations within the laboratory.

6. Maintain accurate records of test results, patient information, and laboratory procedures in compliance with confidentiality and data protection policies.

7. Ensure daily records are maintained for all activities i.e. Administrative Activities (Temperature maintenance, Waste Disposal and Cleaning) and Operational Activities.

8. Ensure all staff is following hygiene and safety protocols and wearing PPE as instructed.

9. Handover hard copies of patient reports to reception.

10. Handover hard copies of blood camp donor reports to camp coordinator. Qualification

1. Knowledge:

•* Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques and procedures. *

2. Skills:

•* Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. *

3. Education:

•* Bachelor’s Degree/ Diploma in Laboratory Management Experience *

Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory, preferably in haematology or thalassemia
