Laboratory Technician

Position Summary: Responsible for maintaining Plasma Service Group's laboratory operations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintains PSG’s daily laboratory operations

  • Reviews donor records and results and ensures they are marked for initial and reflex testing

  • Performs lab testing

  • Maintains and troubleshoots multiple analyzers

  • Responsible for data review and data entry of laboratory information and assists with troubleshooting when needed

  • Maintains kit testing inventory and lab sample trays

  • Communicates with instrument manufactures for instrument and project support

  • Conducts CRO testing according to client specifications; serves as interface with clients to support CRO testing projects, manage and report data for CRO projects

  • Develops and maintains lab logs for troubleshooting, QA, and project purposes

  • Provides backup for operations, production, and other PSG operations as needed

  • Maintains production lab, manages schedule and ordering of production related materials

  • Performs processing related duties (defibrination and delipidization, filtering, pooling) on biological materials according to customer and in-house specifications

  • Follows and documents all processing SOPs and ensures WI steps are being followed

  • Updates databases to capture process completion

  • Follows all company environmental, health and safety policies, procedures and guidelines, and conducts work in a safe manner

  • Performs other duties as assigned


Job Specifications (skills, knowledge, special training, certification, license requirements):

  • Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques

  • Ability to work with human serum/plasma and whole blood

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication and organization skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teams, and Outlook


Education and Work Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field preferred

  • Previous experience in laboratory testing and/or sample handling required


This is an on-site position at Plasma Service Group's location in Moorestown, NJ. The base salary range for this position is $37,000- $42,000/year.
The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
