The Ocean County Utilities Authority, a public regional wastewater treatment agency located in Bayville, NJ, is presently seeking a Laboratory Technician Aide. The Laboratory Technician Aide is responsible for performing laboratory analyses and completing analytical work for reports to State and federal regulatory agencies as required by the Authority.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
The following list of duties for the Laboratory Technician Aide is not exhaustive:
- Maintain a proper log of all analytical work performed and keep current computer data entry of all analytical and quality control work performed.
- Assist the Laboratory Supervisor with the ordering and preparation of chemicals, reagents and supplies and the maintenance of laboratory and field equipment.
- Regular rotations to wastewater treatment facilities in Brick, NJ and West Creek, NJ.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- The Laboratory Technician Aide must possess a minimum of Associate’s degree with a concentration in biology, chemistry, or a directly-related field, and at least one year experience in performing laboratory tests, preferably in the field of wastewater treatment.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the biological and chemical processes.
- Be familiar with current approved methodologies and procedures as set by regulatory agencies.
- Be thoroughly familiar the chemical hygiene plan and observe all safety protocol.
