Where You’ll Work
This is an on-site role working within our modern, purpose-built research and development facility located in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, USA.
What You Will Do
Luminultra is seeking a Laboratory Technician, R&D to join our growing and innovative Research and Development team.
In this hands-on role, you will keep our laboratory operating smoothly and accurately. You will prepare and analyze samples, operate specialized instruments, and follow established methodologies to deliver reliable, high-quality results. From maintaining and calibrating equipment to documenting findings and supporting continuous improvement initiatives, you will play an important role in driving safety, precision, and efficiency across our lab operations.

This position offers a base salary range of $40,000 $50,000 USD, depending on experience, with additional earning potential through our annual bonus plan.
In this role, you will support key organizational objectives and be responsible for:

Independently perform routine and non-routine sample preparations, tests, and analyses using the appropriate equipment, instrumentation, reagents, standards, and methods.

Follow strict methodologies, accurately culture, extract, and/or test samples using analytical instrumentation and software.

Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment, including but not limited to centrifuges, pipettes, and pH meters.

Accurately communicate and document analytical results per internal protocols.

Input and maintain technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.

Perform equipment checks, instrument calibrations, and assist in ensuring consistent levels of consumables and supplies in the laboratory.

Continually strive to improve Company processes and products for improved safety, quality, and efficiency.

Maintain, clean, and/or sterilize laboratory instruments, equipment, and workspaces.

Adhere to internal and external standards, policies, and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
You are detail-oriented, curious, comfortable performing routine and precise lab work, and thrive in fast-paced environments. Additionally, you bring skills and experience such as:

Bachelors degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related field. Associates degree with relevant lab experience may also be considered.

Hands-on lab experience gained through academic coursework, internships, or co-op placements.

Proficiency in fundamental laboratory techniques such as pipetting, solution preparation, serial dilutions, and sample handling.

Familiarity with aseptic technique and working in a controlled or clean lab environment.

Strong documentation skills with attention to accuracy and completeness.

Ability to follow detailed SOPs, experimental protocols, and established methodologies.
Nice to Have (but not required)

Exposure to common biotech instrumentation (eg. PCR, centrifuges, incubators).
