About the Role

The Construction Laborer supports daily job site operations by assisting skilled trades, operating equipment, and performing a variety of physical tasks. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in changing conditions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled trades as needed

  • Perform site preparation tasks including removing, filling, and compacting earth

  • Operate hand tools and power tools such as drills, forklifts, skid loaders, and other equipment as directed

  • Clean and prepare construction sites, including erecting scaffolding, digging trenches, and removing debris

  • Load, unload, and transport materials manually or using equipment from trucks, pallets, and storage areas

  • Move materials to and from work areas or storage locations efficiently

  • Perform road construction work including asphalt placement, concrete work, installation of supports, guardrails, signage, and landscaping

  • Assist with concrete placement and finishing

  • Perform selective demolition of non-load-bearing walls, ceilings, and flooring, including proper disposal of debris

  • Support carpentry tasks such as layout, framing, drywall installation, and other rough and finish carpentry work

  • Build and install temporary protections including barricades, visqueen, and floor protection

  • Perform general site cleanup including sweeping, vacuuming, and waste removal

  • Stack, organize, and assemble materials into bundles for efficient use

  • Make basic repairs and adjustments to tools, equipment, and trucks

  • Operate construction vehicles and equipment as required

  • Perform flagging, traffic control, or other site safety duties as needed

  • Assist with receiving and handling material deliveries

  • Work independently with minimal supervision and proactively identify tasks when not directed

Physical Requirements & Work Conditions:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds regularly

  • Ability to bend, kneel, squat, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day

  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, wet, and muddy job site conditions

Additional Duties:

  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support project and organizational needs

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma

  • Relevant experience in commercial & industrial construction, preferred.

  • OSHA 10, preferred.

  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. 50lb lift minimum

  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and ability to multi-task.

  • Task-oriented, reliable, and committed to meeting deadlines.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexible availability, may include some overtime, weekends, and night shifts.
