Laborer

Summary of Responsibilities:
Performs tasks which require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.

The following tasks are typical of this occupation: participates in Launch and Recovery efforts as a Flight Crew member loads and unloads trucks, and other conveyances; moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrow or hand truck; stacks materials for storage or binning; collects refuse and salvageable materials.

Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake; shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches; cuts trees and brush; operates power landscaping equipment.

Moves and arranges heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliances, automotive, medical engineering, and other types of machinery and equipment.

Spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walk-ways; picks up leaves and trash.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE: 1 years’ general labor experience

EDUCATION: High School Graduate or GED

SECURITY CLEARANCE: National Agency Check (NAC)

LANGUAGE: Must be able to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.

PHYSICAL: Work requires the ability to perform the following physical activities: walking, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, crawling, reaching, lifting 25lbs, sitting, and squatting. Work may require walking, standing, sitting, and working in confined spaces or at high elevations for extended periods of time. Warehouse, exterior and interior work environments, sometimes in inclement weather. Candidates must be willing and able to work various work shifts as assigned.
