Laborer

The Board of Commissioners of Defiance County, Ohio, is accepting applications for the position of Laborer for Defiance County Environmental Services. This position is a full-time position; Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Full-time employees are entitled to paid holidays, eligible for County health insurance, and earn vacation time. All County employees are participants in the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).

The primary objective of this position, under direction and general supervision of the Director and Assistant Director, is to assist the general public with recycling and litter prevention programs as required by the Solid Waste Management Plan. These include Drop-Off Recycling, School Recycling, Office Recycling, Special Events, Litter Containment and Recycling, Roadside Litter, Adopt-A-Highway (AAH), Scrap Tire Disposal, HHW, Electronics Recycling, etc. The secondary objective of this position is to complete mowing and snow removal duties at defined county facilities.

High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must have possession of a valid Ohio driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour.
