Job Summary
Malwin is seeking a Test Systems Engineer to develop, implement, and support automated test solutions for high-reliability aerospace components and assemblies. This role is ideal for a LabVIEW-focused engineer with a strong grasp of instrumentation, signal acquisition, and systems integration across mechanical and electrical interfaces.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing and validating internal test infrastructure that supports production, repair, calibration, and qualification processes in accordance with AS9100 and CUI/ITAR standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement automated test systems using LabVIEW, NI TestStand, or equivalent platforms.
- Develop custom test software architectures for measurement, data logging, signal generation, and control.
- Interface with precision instrumentation: DAQ, oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, and sensors (pressure, flow, force, etc.).
- Support test stand hardware integration, including layout, cable routing, and I/O interface design.
- Translate test requirements and specifications into executable procedures for aerospace instrumentation and electromechanical subassemblies.
- Develop and maintain test documentation, including schematics, BOMs, procedures, and calibration reports.
- Perform debugging, root cause analysis, and corrective action on test equipment and supporting interfaces.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to ensure systems are maintainable, scalable, and validated.
- Adhere to traceability, revision control, and internal quality management practices throughout development.
- Manage and support test system lifecycle from concept through sustainment and upgrade cycles.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field; equivalent work experience may substitute.
- Proficient in LabVIEW, including development of modular, scalable VIs and instrument drivers.
- Experience with NI hardware platforms (PXI, cDAQ, SCXI, etc.) and TestStand or similar test frameworks.
- Familiarity with instrumentation protocols (GPIB, VISA, Modbus, CAN, SPI, I2C).
- Hands-on experience with electrical debug, test fixture design, and working in a lab environment.
- Strong understanding of signal conditioning, measurement error sources, and analog front ends.
- Experience working with custom test hardware, including wiring, sensors, actuators, and relay systems.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills; able to clearly present test logic, results, and findings.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
