Job Description: Land Surveyor

Workplace: Al-Jouf & Qassim


Overview

A Land Surveyor measures and maps land features to establish boundaries, prepare construction sites, and support engineering, architectural, and real-estate projects. They use specialized equipment, software, and legal documentation to provide accurate data that guides land development and property ownership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field surveys to determine property boundaries, elevations, and topographical features.
  • Operate surveying instruments such as GPS, total stations, theodolites, drones, and digital mapping tools.
  • Collect and analyze spatial data for use in engineering, construction, and land development projects.
  • Prepare survey reports , maps, and plats that meet legal and regulatory standards.
  • Interpret and verify deeds, titles, and historical land records to ensure accurate boundary determination.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and government agencies on project requirements.
  • Mark boundaries and reference points for construction crews.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to land surveying.
  • Use CAD or GIS software to process data and generate detailed drawings.
  • Monitor and maintain surveying equipment for accuracy and functionality.


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency with surveying tools (GPS, total station, levels, drones).
  • Strong knowledge of property law, land boundaries, and local regulations .
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and legal documents .
  • Experience with CAD, GIS, or surveying software .
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
  • Good physical condition for outdoor fieldwork.


Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying , Geomatics , Civil Engineering , or related field (preferred).
  • Professional Surveyor License ( RLS , PLS , LS , or country-specific equivalent), or willingness to pursue licensure.
  • Relevant field experience or internships.


Work Environment

Land Surveyors work outdoors (field sites, varying terrain, all weather conditions) and indoors (data processing, reporting, mapping). Projects include construction, land development, mining, utilities, transportation, and property disputes.
