STARTING PAY
$22.85- $30.63 per hour (based on experience) | Weekly Pay
WORK HOURS
Monday - Friday
7 am - 5 pm (1-hour lunch)
Overtime opportunities are available.

JOB SUMMARY
As a Landfill Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for inspecting incoming loads for compliance with waste management regulations, operating heavy machinery like dozers and compactors, and assisting with manual labor as needed.
To succeed in this role, you'll need to operate heavy equipment efficiently and understand basic maintenance practices. While experience with compactors is advantageous, it's not required. We seek individuals who can quickly learn, pay attention to detail, and follow instructions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect incoming loads for unauthorized waste and complete load inspection reports.
Enforce safety protocols throughout the landfill.
Perform heavy manual labor when necessary.
Report safety or compliance incidents to supervisors.
Pick up litter and assist with litter fence management.
Follow oral and written instructions while working independently.
Operate heavy farm and landfill equipment, such as dump trucks, bush hogs, and skid-steers.
Operate heavy earth-moving equipment like excavators and bulldozers.
Complete daily equipment inspection reports electronically.
Identify repair needs and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Suggest improvements for operational efficiency.
DESIRED SKILLS
High school diploma or GED
Experience in a related field is preferred
Experience operating a compactor is a plus!
REQUIREMENTS
Dependability and punctuality are critical.
Ability to learn new skills quickly.
Reliable transportation and residence within a commutable distance to Huntsville.
Valid, active driver's license required.
Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds.
Must wear personal protective equipment.
