EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities: • Operate on a variety of heavy equipment including loaders, excavators, compactors, forklifts, and other equipment used to move and process materials on site.• Load and feed processing equipment, manage stockpiles, and keep material flowing through the landfill, recycling, and composting areas.• Assist with sorting landfill trash, recyclables, and household hazardous waste collections at the SCRAP facility, and perform additional manual tasks as needed to support landfill and recycling operations• Transport and haul landfill or recycled materials on site and at drop-off centers and maintain locations to ensure efficiency and safety for all Summit County Residents.• Perform daily equipment checks, fueling, greasing, and basic maintenance before and after operation• Keep work areas clean, control litter, and maintain safe traffic flow around equipment and customers, working closely with leads and other operators to manage daily workloads and changing site conditions• Work outdoors year-round in a fast-paced environment that includes dust, noise, weather, and uneven terrain
