Job Title: Landscape Apprentice
Job Summary:
We are seeking an Landscape Apprentice to join our team for the upcoming season. The Landscape Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the design, installation, and maintenance of landscaping projects. This is an entry-level position where the apprentice will receive on-the-job training and development in areas such as horticulture, landscape design, equipment use, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help with the preparation and planning of landscape projects, including planting, mulching, and hardscaping (paving, retaining walls)
- Help install sod, plants, shrubs, and trees.
- Assist with hardscaping, such as the installation of walkways, patios, and other outdoor features.
- Assist with installation of Irrigation systems.
- Assist in building a variety of fences.
- Operate various landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
- Operate trucks with trailers (training provided)
- Operate and maintain use of skid steer and walk behind skid steer with various attachments.
- Maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Participate in training to gain knowledge of plant species, landscape design principles, safety procedures, and best practices in the landscaping industry.
- Seek guidance and feedback from experienced professionals to improve skills and knowledge.
- Assist with communication with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and attention to detail in landscaping projects.
- Follow all safety guidelines, use protective gear, and adhere to company policies and regulations regarding landscaping work.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Skills: Basic understanding of landscaping tools and techniques (or willingness to learn), strong work ethic, ability to follow instructions.
- Physical Ability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Experience: Prior landscaping experience is a plus but not required.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Requires some flexibility in working hours.
- 4 Day work weeks (10 hour days)
