Landscape Apprentice / Junior Crew Lead

Job Overview

Join our growing landscape team as a Landscape Apprentice / Junior Crew Lead and help create beautiful outdoor spaces throughout Central Massachusetts. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to develop leadership skills while gaining hands-on experience in landscaping.

In this position, you will work alongside experienced crew leaders to complete landscape maintenance and installation projects while gradually taking on more responsibility in guiding daily tasks and supporting the crew. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow into a future crew leader role.

Duties

• Assist with landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, planting, and pruning
• Support the Crew Leader in organizing daily tasks and keeping projects running smoothly
• Help guide crew members and maintain a safe and productive work environment
• Perform routine lawn care and plant maintenance to promote healthy landscapes
• Assist with tree care, planting projects, and landscape installations
• Support irrigation installations and general landscape improvements
• Help maintain equipment, tools, and materials to ensure safe operations
• Provide friendly, professional service to clients when on job sites

Experience

• Previous landscape maintenance or outdoor work experience preferred
• Some leadership experience or interest in developing leadership skills
• Basic knowledge of lawn care, landscaping practices, or horticulture is a plus
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate landscaping equipment
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn and grow within the company
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions

Experience:

• Landscaping: 1 year preferred

License/Certification:

• Valid Driver’s License (Required)
• DOT Medical Card (Required)

Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
