**Position Overview**
We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented **Landscape Architect Intern**
to assist in designing and maintaining outdoor environments for our residents. This internship provides hands-on experience in healthcare-focused landscape design, including therapeutic gardens, courtyards, and walking paths, with an emphasis on accessibility, safety, and sustainability.
**Key Responsibilities**

Assist with the design and planning of therapeutic gardens, courtyards, walking paths, and shaded seating areas

Support planting plans tailored to senior residents, including low-maintenance and sensory-stimulating selections

Conduct site analysis, document existing conditions, and assist with drawings and renderings

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including facilities, nursing, and activities staff

Research best practices for dementia-friendly and ADA-compliant outdoor environments

Assist with cost estimates, material selection, and vendor coordination

Support sustainability initiatives such as native planting and water conservation
**Qualifications**
Required
-
Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Landscape Architecture or related field

Basic knowledge of landscape design principles and plant materials

Familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software

Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred

Interest in therapeutic/healing garden design

Knowledge of ADA accessibility standards

Experience with sustainable landscaping or horticulture
