Overview
Town & Country Landscape is hiring an experienced Landscape Construction Foreman/Crew Chief to lead a commercial landscape installation crew and help deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can read plans, coordinate daily work, operate equipment, and keep a jobsite organized while communicating clearly with the supervisor/project manager.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a 3–6 person commercial landscape installation crew to safely deliver projects on schedule and to company quality standards
- Read and interpret commercial landscape plans, details, and scope; plan daily work, sequencing, and labor/equipment needs
- Layout and verify grades, elevations, and material quantities; ensure installs match plan specs and site conditions
- Coordinate and perform commercial landscape install work including:
- Hardscape (pavers, block/segmental walls, concrete prep/finishing coordination as needed)
- Site demo/cleanup and rough grading
- Soil prep, planting, staking/tie-downs, and turf/sod installation
- Irrigation mainline/lateral installs, valve manifolds, sleeves, and smart controller setup (as applicable)
- Operate and/or direct operation of equipment (skid steer, mini-excavator, forklifts/telehandler, lifts, etc.) and ensure safe use and daily inspections
- Maintain jobsite organization, protection of client property, traffic/pedestrian safety controls, and clean closeout each day
- Communicate daily production updates, issues, and change conditions to the supervisor/project manager; document photos and notes as needed
- Verify materials delivered match order; stage materials, manage inventory, and coordinate with vendors/suppliers when needed
- Train new crew members on install standards, safety, and equipment operation; coach crew performance and productivity
- Identify problems early (utilities, access, conflicts, soil/drainage issues) and propose solutions that keep the project moving
- Support seasonal snow operations as needed
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in landscape construction
- High attention to detail and desire to improve customer properties
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and use critical thinking to adapt to sudden changes
- Experience operating hand and power tools
- Knowledge/experience with heavy equipment such as skid steer, excavators, lifts, telehandler, etc.
- Must understand commercial landscape plan sets (other trade knowledge for reading plans is a plus)
- Proper shrub and tree installation knowledge, including staking and tie-downs
- Knowledge in commercial irrigation installations and smart controller setup (2-wire systems experience is required)
- Plant ID knowledge of basic Northern Nevada desert plants is a plus
- Ability to drive manual transmission
- Valid Driver’s License
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs, and stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Able to work in multiple weather conditions (snow, rain, etc.); early/late hours as required (sometimes overtime)
- Must be available full-time (6 AM - 3 PM, Monday - Friday) and for seasonal snow work as required
- Reliable transportation to the yard/shop (9800 N. Virginia St, Reno, NV 89506) by 6 AM
- Ability to use a smartphone or tablet (training available)

Pay: $25.83 - $31.11 per hour
