Landscape Construction Laborer

Position Summary
Big Guy Landscape is seeking a skilled and motivated Landscape Construction Crew Member to join our team. This position is responsible for a variety of landscape construction projects, including site preparation, planting, lawn installations, and stone driveway construction. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and experienced operating landscaping equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities

• Perform site preparation, grading, excavation, and material installation for landscape construction projects
• Install trees, shrubs, perennials, and other landscape plantings
• Install and establish lawns using sod and seed
• Assist in constructing stone driveways and related hardscape features
• Operate skid steers and other equipment safely and efficiently
• Load, unload, and transport materials, equipment, and supplies to job sites
• Drive company trucks and trailers between the yard and project locations
• Assist with layout, measurements, and project execution according to plans and specifications
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean and safe working condition
• Follow all company safety procedures and job site standards
• Work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a positive attitude and professional appearance

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in landscape construction, hardscaping, or related outdoor construction work
• Ability to drive a truck with a trailer safely and confidently
• Experience operating a skid steer
• Working knowledge of landscaping equipment, including: Plate compactor, Backpack blower, Trimmer, Chainsaw
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions and work independently when required

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Current DOT Medical Card
• Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License (1C and/or 2A)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with grading, drainage, and excavation work
• Knowledge of plant materials and proper planting techniques
• Experience operating additional construction equipment

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour

• Skid steer loader: 3 years (Required)
