Landscape Construction / Masonry Crew Leader

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Construction and Masonry Crew Leader to lead and manage a crew of 2 people on jobsites. This hands-on role requires strong construction knowledge in masonry, hardscape, fencing, and installations with the ability to manage crews, delegates onsite tasks, materials, with a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship.

The ideal candidate leads by example, takes pride in their work and crew performance, and is highly organized with the ability to delegate tasks efficiently while meeting project deadlines.

Pay is negotiable with proven experience.

Duties

• Install various hardscape and masonry projects
• Manage assigned projects, daily tasks, crew members, material needs, and equipment requirements
• Supervise and coordinate daily work activities of the landscape construction crew
• Delegate tasks to crew members to ensure efficient and timely job completion
• Ensure projects are completed within established deadlines and company quality standards
• Oversee on-site safety, quality, and productivity at all times
• Lead by example and take pride in craftsmanship, jobsite appearance, and crew performance
• Operate various hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently
• Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and other crews to ensure seamless job execution
• Complete and submit all required daily paperwork, including timesheets, material receipts, next-day job requirements, and task planning
• Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, jobsites, and shop/yard areas
• Ensure all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company policies are followed consistently
• Identify field issues and proactively communicate solutions or needs to management

Skills

• Minimum 4+ years of experience in the landscape construction industry
• Proven experience managing and leading construction crews
• Proficient in the safe operation of landscape construction tools and equipment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
• Skilled in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications
• Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment required for landscape construction practices including hardscape, masonry, carpentry, grading, drainage, and planting
• Ability to use a smart phone for communication and job reporting software
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
