About Us

Landbridge Ecological is a locally-owned company specializing in the installation and management of native landscapes. These projects include public, commercial, and residential spaces.

Position Overview

The Project Manager leads ecological construction projects from award through closeout—bridging estimating, field operations, and client communication. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, profitably, and in line with ecological and regulatory standards.

The Project Manager (PM) takes ownership of schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction. Working closely with Estimators and Foremen, the PM transforms awarded bids into executable field operations—coordinating materials, subcontractors, and compliance while ensuring efficient production and strong communication.

Key Responsibilities

Preconstruction & Planning

  • Lead structured handoff from Estimator; confirm scope, quantities, and production targets.
  • Review plans, MnDOT/BWSR specifications, and ecological design details.
  • Develop budgets, cost codes, and schedules aligned with seasonal windows.
  • Prepare procurement lists, logistics plans, and safety/SWPPP documentation.
  • Facilitate any necessary training efforts.

Procurement & Mobilization

  • Purchase seed, plants, erosion-control materials, and specialty items.
  • Draft and manage subcontracts and supplier POs.
  • Coordinate permits, access, utility locates, and landowner notifications.

Construction Oversight

  • Hold regular meetings with Foremen to plan work, track production, and identify roadblocks.
  • Manage change orders, RFIs, and field adjustments.
  • Ensure quality installation and compliance with ecological and SWPPP requirements.
  • Conduct site visits to verify performance, safety, and documentation.

Financial & Schedule Management

  • Track budgets, costs, and productivity; forecast project financials.
  • Approve timecards, equipment hours, and field logs.
  • Prepare and submit pay applications and change orders.
  • Maintain project schedules and adjust for weather or site conditions.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Serve as the client’s main contact during execution and establishment.
  • Lead progress meetings and provide clear updates on budget, schedule, and quality.
  • Coordinate with agencies, inspectors, and subcontractors.

Closeout & Establishment

  • Deliver final documentation, as-builts, and warranty submittals.
  • Oversee establishment tasks (mowing, invasive control, reseeding) until acceptance.

Success Metrics

  • Projects meet or exceed profit targets and schedule commitments.
  • Change orders processed promptly and accurately.
  • Client satisfaction and repeat work secured.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years managing construction or ecological restoration projects.
  • Skilled in reading plans, managing budgets, and coordinating field operations.
  • Strong communication and leadership; able to mentor Foremen and field staff.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regionally.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in landscape installation in a heavy construction setting.
  • Knowledge of native seeding, planting, erosion control, and site restoration.
  • Proficient in project management and scheduling software such as Stack, Bluebeam, Excel, Procore, or similar.
  • Certifications such as: MnDOT Certified Landscape Specialist, Erosion Control Supervisor, MNLA Certified Professional, or similar.
  • Experience with common landscape equipment (Skidsteers, tractors, or similar).
  • Estimating and sales experience.
  • Familiarity with labor unions.
