Job Position: Commercial Project Manager / Estimator
Reports to: Commercial Department Leader
Position Summary
K&D Landscaping is seeking a Commercial Project Manager / Estimator to join our team. This hybrid role is responsible for both estimating commercial landscape construction projects and managing awarded work through completion. This position plays a key role in supporting company growth by producing accurate, competitive estimates while ensuring successful project execution. The Commercial Project Manager / Estimator owns projects from award through closeout, protecting gross profit, schedule, and K&D Landscapings commitment to being the Best Subcontractor Onsite.
Estimating & Pre-Construction

Review and respond to RFPs/RFQs for commercial landscape projects ranging from $100K to $3M+

Identify new bid opportunities through job boards, client outreach, and industry relationships

Perform digital takeoffs and prepare estimates using Aspire and K&D estimating systems

Conduct site visits to verify conditions and confirm scope

Prepare and submit proposals outlining scope, inclusions, exclusions, and assumptions

Follow up on bids to gather feedback and increase awarded work

Lead internal handoff meetings for awarded projects
Project Management & Execution

Manage 36 active commercial projects along with pre-construction and closeout activities

Review contracts and manage submittals, RFIs, and change orders

Develop production-hour budgets and track estimated vs. actual performance

Coordinate schedule, sequencing, and manpower with field leadership

Manage material procurement with the Project Coordinator

Maintain clear communication with general contractors, vendors, and internal teams

Monitor job cost performance including labor and material variance

Support billing, pay applications, and cost forecasting

Lead project closeout including punch walks and final documentation
Experience
-
Background in commercial landscape construction, construction management, estimating, or project management

Understanding of construction plans, specifications, and contracts

Experience with estimating software or digital takeoff tools preferred

Experience managing job cost and project financials preferred
