Landscape Crew or Lead, Full-Time, Year-Round

Segale Properties, a mid-sized commercial real estate company, is looking for a full-time Landscaper -or- Landscaping Crew Lead to join our team!

Responsibilities Include:

• Landscape maintenance and general lawn care: mowing, weeding, edging, fertilizing, pruning, seeding, planting, irrigation, groundskeeping, and garden bed upkeep.
• Operate a wide variety of tools and equipment with commitment to safety, including properly cleaning, storing, and maintaining a variety of tools and equipment.
• Remove debris, trash, and litter from facilities and outdoor spaces.
• Work on a variety of landscape construction projects and being adaptable to day-to-day changes in work assignments and location.
• Complete work with a keen eye to detail and are always looking for ways to keep Segale properties looking their best.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Landscaping Crew Lead ONLY, Additional Responsibilities:

• Set pace and motivate team to work with a sense of urgency without sacrificing quality of work.
• Conduct before and after inspection of sites to identify successes and follow-up needed.
• Provide on-the-job training to build and reinforce skills as they are needed.
• Reinforce Segale’s culture of safety, including the use of PPE.
• Reinforce the high standards, positive, and productive work environment required of everyone at Segale.
• Demonstrate leadership skills that foster a sense of purpose and encourages productivity and engagement.

Requirements:

Education, Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Washington State Driver’s License and safe driving record. For insurance purposes, preference will be given to candidates at least 25 years of age.
• Experienced with outdoor landscape and/or general physical labor work.

Workplace Safety

• Punctual and reliable daily attendance and remaining alert throughout shift.
• Able to perform physically demanding daily work in various weather conditions. This includes lifting to 50 pounds, bending, turning, pushing, and pulling without limitations.

Landscaping Crew Lead ONLY Requirements:

• Commercial Pesticide Applicators License.
• Strong knowledge of local plants and their proper planting, care, and pruning.
• 5+ years of commercial or high-end residential landscaping, including at least 1-2 years of overseeing other landscape crew members.

Workplace Safety:

• Segale Properties is an alcohol and drug free workplace. After receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidate must complete a background check, have safe driving record verified, and pass preemployment drug and alcohol screen.

Location/Work Schedule:

• The position is based out of our main office in Tukwila, WA.
• Regular schedule is Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week (generally 5:45 AM -2:15 PM), with occasional overtime. We work as a team and punctuality is required.

What We Offer:

• LANDSCAPE CREW: $23- $26 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. LANDSCAPE CREW LEAD: $27-$33 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
• 100% paid employee medical/vision and dental insurance. 50% paid family coverage.
• After one year of service, employees are eligible to participate in the 401(k) and receive a matching contribution equal to 100% of the first 4% of pay contributed.
• $25,000 employee life insurance, AD&D insurance, Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
• 7 days of vacation (increasing each full calendar year for first 5 years), eight paid holidays, and paid office closure the week between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day, Washington Paid Sick Leave. Vacation and holidays are prorated the first year, based on date of hire.
• Use of company vehicle, tools and equipment, and cell phone allowance.
• On-site workout facility with locker room and showers.
