Landscape Design Assistant

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Landscape Design Assistant to join our team and contribute to our vision of exceptional design and client satisfaction.


Position Summary: The Landscape Design Assistant will provide support to our landscape design team by assisting with design development, project estimating & coordination, client communications, and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for landscape design and construction who is eager to gain hands-on experience in the field and contribute to exciting and diverse projects.


Job Summary and Responsibilities


  • Produce base maps, designs, materials takeoffs, and proposals.
  • Take measurements, site elevations when needed.
  • Communicate and take direction from Landscape Designer on daily task prioritization
  • Attend meetings when necessary. These may include initial consultations, site walks, presentations, construction progress meetings, and final completion meetings.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain organized project files, manage documentation, and assist with preparing reports, invoices, and other administrative tasks.
  • Verify scope accuracy by cross-checking drawings, specifications, and addendums before estimating projects.
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs using digital plans, drawings, and site information for both commercial and residential projects.
  • Comply with all Badger State Maintenance processes

Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or working toward a degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Design, or a related field – preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Previous experience or internships in landscape design, construction or a related field is preferred
  • Possess a valid driver's license and be insurable on the company’s insurance policy.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in design software (e.g., Realtime Landscape Design/Uvision, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) (preferred but not required)
  • Bluebeam (preferred but not required)
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • LMN CRM software (preferred but not require)
  • Understanding of hardiness zone 5b plant materials, landscape design principles, and basic construction methods (preferred but not required)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Personal Traits: Creative, proactive, and enthusiastic with a strong passion for landscape design and sustainability.
