Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, motivated Landscape Designer to join our collaborative Design+Buildteam. This role is ideal for someone who brings creativity, technical skill, and hands-on project experience to the table and is eager to collaborate with both clients and our in-house teams. The right candidate will have strong design sensibilities, solid field awareness, excellent communication skills, and experience managing landscape projects from concept through installation.
As a Landscape Designer, you will take an active role in all phases of design and implementation for a wide array of commercial and high-end residential projects, working closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver exceptional environments that reflect our commitment to design excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct client meetings and site assessments to understand goals, constraints, and opportunities• Conduct site visits, participate in construction observation, and assist with resolving design or site issues as needed• Develop detailed, buildable designs including planting, hardscape, irrigation, and lighting plans• Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates to align design intent with project budgets• Collaborate closely with project managers, installation crews, and subcontractors to ensure feasibility and smooth execution• Present design concepts and revisions to clients, incorporating feedback and adjustments• Support the sales team during client meetings and proposal development• Utilize CAD and design software to produce accurate plans, renderings, and visual presentations• Stay current on trends, materials, and technologies in landscape design
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or a related field• Minimum 3-5 years of professional landscape design experience, preferably in a design-build environment• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite• Solid understanding of plant selection, hardscape materials, irrigation, and lighting systems• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines• Creative problem-solver with a proactive, collaborative mindset
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Primarily office-based with collaborative workspaces and design tools• Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods and travel to job sites as needed• Ability to navigate active project sites and perform field assessments
