Landscape Designer

Metric Engineering is seeking a motivated and skilled Mid‑Level Landscape Designer / Landscape Architect to support the design and delivery of impactful public and private sector projects across Florida. In this role, you’ll contribute to project production, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and expand your technical expertise while helping create vibrant, resilient places statewide.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem‑solving and has the technical skills to work independently with oversight, values teamwork, and is ready to take on increasing responsibility in a supportive environment. You’ll have the flexibility of remote work while staying connected to a team that prioritizes communication, collaboration, and professional growth. Licensure is not required for this position. Occasional statewide travel may be required for site visits, client meetings and company events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project development from conceptual design through construction documents and post‑design services.
  • Assist with preparing plans, graphics, technical details, and presentation materials using AutoCAD, Land F/X, Photoshop, and other software.
  • Contribute to site analysis, planning layouts, planting design, and preparation of construction documents.
  • Research and apply municipal codes, permitting requirements, and project standards with guidance from senior staff.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, construction observation, and other post‑design tasks as needed.
  • Support senior designers and project managers while developing your own technical and project management skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Accredited degree in Landscape Architecture or qualifying experience under a licensed Landscape Architect.
  • 5–7 years of experience working on landscape architecture projects in Florida
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Land F/X, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop.
  • Working knowledge of municipal codes and permitting requirements. Ability to research, interpret and apply them where you are not already familiar with them.
  • Strong graphic, technical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment and communicate clearly.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing project needs.
  • Technical skills sufficient to work independently with guidance and direction from others.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Lumion and InDesign.
  • Basic irrigation design experience.
  • Landscape Architecture licensure is not required, but the ability and desire to pursue one is a plus.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
